The rise in fuel prices continues and the Spanish Government has decided to maintain the discount of 20 cents per liter until at least September. For its part, Repsol has decided to maintain its own throughout the summer.
When the discount of 20 cents per liter for fuel in Spain came into force on April 1, Gasoline 95 was paid at 1,817 euros per liter on average. For its part, Diesel A was paid at an average of 1,852 euros per liter.
It’s been almost three months Since then and on July 1, the extension that the Government of Spain has decided to apply to said measure will come into force, in theory until September, although without a fixed date of disappearance.
This is due to the fact that the price of fuel has continued to rise, even going so far as to engulf the discount of 20 cents when applied. And the fact is that, not in vain, as of June 29, the average price of Gasoline 95 is 2,127 euros per literwith the average price of Diesel A located at 2,099 euros per liter.
Repsol follows the example
In this situation, and with the oil companies declaring record profit figures, Repsol has decided to extend its additional discount of 10 cents for users who use the Waylet application to pay, as well as for carriers who use the Solred card. That is, a total of 30 cents per liter discount in the price of fuel.
On the other hand, customers who go to Repsol service stations and do not use Waylet will add a 5 cent discount to the State bonus of 20 cents. Therefore, in these cases the total discount will remain at 25 euro cents per liter.

“Thanks to the discount offered by Repsol, our customers have so far been able to enjoy savings of some 150 million euros, which is being fully assumed by the company, in line with its commitment to society», says the company in a statement.
«Repsol assumes the discount by reducing its commercial margins in a context of rising international prices for gasoline and diesel, which, together with taxes, are the main variable when setting the price of fuel. This fact has been verified by the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC)»expands Repsol.
