We were all shocked yesterday when it was revealed that batgirl, a film that would come to HBO Max and was in the final stages of post-production, was cancelled. Unfortunately for all DCEU fans, this would not be the only product with the same fate, since it seems that Flash is at similar risk.
According to a report by Variety, Warner Bros. is currently considering what to do with the film. Flash. On this occasion, the possible cancellation would not be the result of a financial evaluation, but as a way to get away from all the controversies that Ezra Miller has starred in in recent months.
Considering that Flash is a large-scale project planned for theaters, which has undergone several delays and reshoots, Warner Bros. is not sure which way to go with this film. Although there is talk of moving the premiere to HBO Max, cancellation of the project is not completely ruled outthus hiding this film from the public forever, or until fans replicate the Snyder Cut move.
Cancel Flash not only would it have financial repercussions, but the DCEU would suffer significantly. As you probably already know, this film will adapt the story of flash point, with which it is thought to give a soft-reboot to this cinematographic universe, eliminate what did not work, leave aside the Batman and Superman of Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill respectively, and keep what did work. Nevertheless, eliminating the project would mean that these plans would be abandonedand we will probably see a reboot that could affect other series and movies.
At the moment this is just a report, and at the moment there is no official information. In related topics, you can learn more about Batgirl’s cancellation here. Similarly, this is the DC release schedule.
Editor’s note:
In the event that Flash is canceled, something that I don’t see as possible, this means that the DCEU could very well be eliminated completely, and movies like Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Black Adam and Shazam have little or no relation to each other.
