Since the beginning of this month of July, the portal of social prosperity open registration for the program Youth in Actionwhich encourages and strengthens the training of young Colombians, that is, the young population, in order for them to get ahead and overcome the situation of poverty and vulnerability in which they live and thus promote their social mobility in Colombia.
How long will the registration for Youth in Action be?
It should be noted that the registration and call for the Youth in Action program will be open from July 4 to November 1, 2023. This benefit from the Colombian government will only be accessible to 100,000 young people and the authorities expect the registration of at least 400 thousand candidates.
Where to sign up and register for the Youth in Action program?
The pre-registration process for the Jóvenes en Acción program is carried out solely and exclusively through the official Colombian portal for Social Prosperity, by clicking HERE. Youth in Action Program Process
The Social Prosperity entity issued Resolution 1371 on June 28 and it establishes the conditions of the registration process, which will be carried out in two phases:
- Phase I – Registration of SENA apprentices
Applicants will have the possibility to apply to the Jóvenes en Acción program during the dates between July 4 and September 11 and will receive their registration from October 23, 2023.
- Phase II – IES and SENA registrations
Applicants will have the possibility to apply to the program between July 14 and November 1 and will receive their registration from December 18, 2023.
Requirements to enter the Youth in Action program
The government has established a series of requirements that you must meet to enter the Youth in Action program and these are the following:
- Young people between the ages of 14 and 28 who have a bachelor’s degree in secondary vocational education (grade 11) are eligible to participate.
- Must not have a college degree
- They must be in the population groups targeted by the program, due to their situation of vulnerability or poverty. These groups are identified through ICBF census lists, indigenous census lists, and Sisbén IV.
Registration process for Youth in Action
It should be noted that the Jóvenes en Acción program has three stages that all students who apply must comply with:
- Pre-registration: The student must complete a form that will then generate an access code to the portal of Youth in Action. There you must upload basic documentation such as identity document and high school diploma.
- Record: Social Prosperity validates the registered data and documents.
- Registration formalization: the entity receives the reports from the educational institutions, in which it is verified that the applicant is enrolled.
When do you deliver the Youth in Action bonus?
Once the applicants comply with the complete registration process, the authorities will verify the academic commitments or conditionalities established by the program and the incentives will subsequently be delivered.
The program sends a notification to inform if the applicant met the requirements to apply to the Jóvenes en Acción social program. The approval of the registrations depends on the number of young people who present themselves to the process and according to the availability of the places released by the students who finish the accompaniment in the program.
