The peculiar American sports car has become the fastest street model on the Laguna Seca circuit by completing a lap of the Californian track in just 01: 24.44, taking the throne from the McLaren Senna on this track for more than 2 seconds.
The new Czinger 21C is already breaking records on its first forays on the track. Presented in its final format just a couple of months ago, the American sports car has managed to become the fastest street model to complete a lap of the famous Laguna Seca circuit.
Currently this is one of the most mediatic American circuits and one of the most used by private teams and manufacturers, so the times set here by production vehicles are a great reference to their true performance compared to their rivals. Although lately this track is starring in more headlines in the electric segment, for The bitter struggle between the Tesla Model S Plaid and the Lucid Air.
The Czinger 21C was unveiled online in 2020 as the occasion of the Geneva Motor Show, an event that was never actually celebrated. Although on that occasion it was shown only in the form of an initial prototype, since at the beginning of last June the production variant of the curious two-seater hybrid was unveiled. East has a cabin in cockpit shape with seats located in tandem, as in fighter jets. This gives it a rather peculiar image, because it has the width and shapes of a conventional model but with the narrow cabin located in the middle.
This sports car born in the United States has a hybrid scheme based on a 2.88-liter twin-turbo V8 engine associated with 2 electric motors that delivers a total power of 1,250 hp in its base version and 1,350 hp with the optional boost kit. The official benefits are an acceleration capacity from 0 to 100 km / h in 1.9 seconds and from 0 to 300 km / h in 8.1 seconds, with a maximum speed of 452 km / h.
Record
Until now, no registrable vehicle had been able to complete a lap of Laguna Seca in less than 1:25. The fastest so far had been the McLaren Senna in its standard variant, which set a time of 1: 27.62 with Randy Pobst at the wheel. This new record for the Czinger 21C appears to be just the first in a series of visits by the two-seater to different US tracks, so we can expect similar news in the future. The specimen used to set the record at Laguna Seca will be on display this month at the Monterey events.
