The first trailer for God of War: Ragnarok not only left an incredible desire to sink their teeth into the new adventure of Kratos and Atreus, which ends the Viking stage of the saga, but also generated some controversy in social networks among the players who think that Thor’s model it does not correspond to the original version of the Norse god. Far from re-entering the debate of whether the Thor from God of War: Ragnarok more or less resembles a mythological figure of which there is hardly any written evidence left, the truth is that the appearance of the character was decided long before of the launch of this second installment of the series.
Already in 2018, in the first installment of the seriesThere is a scene where Mimir calls Thor “fat dobber”, something we could translate as “fat traitor” or something similar. Odin erected this statue in honor of his son Thor. Seeing all that the World Serpent hates that fat traitor, he must have had enough of looking at it, ”says Mimir in one of Kratos and Atreus’s encounters with the World Serpent.

It is not for less, according to Norse mythology, Thor is the one who banishes the Serpent of the World to the Midgard Sea, where it will remain locked until the day of Ragnarok, when it escapes and fights with the son of Odin in a battle of the that only one will be victorious. We will see if God Of War: Ragnarok rescues any fragment of this legend and shows the confrontation of the two eternal rivals.
God of War: Ragnarok will go on sale in 2022 for PS4 and PS5, although at the moment it does not have a specific release date. We will have to continue waiting for news for the next few months.
