WHO WAS AND HOW DID JACQUELINE AVANT DIED?
Jacqueline Avant, a philanthropist who dedicated her life to community organizing and helping underserved communities, was the mother-in-law of Ted Sarandos the co-CEO and head of content at Netflix. Sarandos married Nicole Avant, the former US ambassador to the Bahamas, in 2009.
The president of Neighbors of Watts, a nonprofit organization that supports community child care centers, was also the wife of Clarence Avant, a major music figure known as “The Black Godfather.”
Jacqueline Avant died at the age of 81 at her Beverly Hills homeCalifornia, on December 1, 2021, as a result of being shot by Aariel Maynor during a burglary on her property.
In April 2022, Aariel Maynor pleaded guilty to Avant’s murder and was sentenced to 190 years to life.
