Quectel Wireless Solutions, the world’s leading provider of IoT solutions, launched its next-generation Android smart module, the SG885G-WF, on Monday. With high performance and extensive multimedia functionsthe smart module is ideal for consumer and industrial applications that require high processing power and multimedia capabilities.
The module is powered by the Qualcomm® QCS8550 System-on-Chip (SoC) for IoT from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and offers an impressive combination of flexibility and performance. It supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 and incorporates 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi technology, offering better connectivity options.

With a computing power of up to 48 trillion operations per second (TOPS), The module incorporates robust video capabilities, including 4K 120fps or 8K 30fps video encoding, as well as 4K 240fps or 8K 60fps video decoding. This ensures smooth, high-quality video processing for various applications.

The SG885G-WF module, measuring 49.0mm x 51.0mm x 4.25mm, is suitable for global deployments and offers 12 GB LPDDR5X plus 256 GB of UFS memory.
Additionally, it features a rich set of interfaces including LCM, camera, I2S, PCIe, UART, USB, I2C, and SPI. All this, added to the adoption of the Android operating system, extends the applicability of the module to a wide range of IoT and M2M applications, such as video conferencing systems, live streaming devices, games, computing, robots, drones, AR/VR, smart trade and security.

The Quectel SG885G-WF also incorporates three high-current flash LED drivers that support flash and flashlight modes, plus charge management capability that supports battery voltage detection., the autonomy indicator and the detection of the battery temperature. Audio interfaces include SWR, digital microphone, MI2S, and HIFI I2S.
