Rumors that an upcoming game of Star wars could be in development outside of EA they are not new. In fact, we know that Ubisoft could be working on one thanks to the introduction of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Now, however, a new rumor claims that Quantic Dream could be the developer company in charge of the next Star Wars franchise title, and a new report by Kotaku sheds more details to light.
According to the Kotaku report, the new installment of Star Wars it would have already started its development, and it would take about 18 months of work so far. Also, unlike other Quantic Dream titles, this new Star Wars would arrive with a gameplay more focused on action rather than your history or QTE dynamics. It has even been rumored that the title could be being developed with an open world and multiplayer mode in mind, but many more details are still missing to ensure this.
Kotaku also mentions in his report that Quantic Dream’s new Montreal studio would be essential for the development of this new Star Wars, and will be in charge of very important details such as the cinematics of the game and its way of carrying the story. This studio started its operations at the beginning of this year, and this would be one of his biggest tasks yet.
Needless to say, of course, that these details have not been confirmed by Quantic Dream, Disney or any other company affiliated with the Star Wars franchise. So far this they are nothing but speculation, but it seems that Kotaku has good reason to believe them.
