In this sense, Concanaco’s calculations are that the retail trade will be the most benefited by this tradition, especially with the sale of items and souvenirs of a religious nature, also food and beverages, the hotel and motel sector, and transportation.
The celebration attracts religious tourism to Mexico City, where the Basilica is located, the most visited sanctuary in the country, and according to the federal Ministry of TourismDevotees are expected from all parts of Mexico and from nations such as the United States, Colombia, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, the Philippines, Italy and Bolivia.
Let us remember that in 2021, the Ministry of Tourism estimated that 4.5 million visitors would go to the Basilica of Guadalupe; this year this figure is expected to grow due to better sanitary conditions.
Profeco will serve visitors
Before this festivity, with the objective of monitoring that the prices of products or services are displayed and respected in the vicinity of the Guadalupan temple, the Federal Consumer Attorney, Ricardo Sheffield Padilla, The Basílica 2022 Operation began with a supervision tour of commercial establishments installed in the vicinity of the enclosure.
The owner recalled that all products and services must have the price in sight, for which reason staff from the Attorney General’s Office have placed more than four thousand price tags in shops in the area, and asked pilgrims not to buy if it is not in sight. the price.
Likewise, as part of the operation, which will end on Monday, December 12, orientation banners have been placed, flyers are distributed in Spanish and in Nahuatl, Mazahua and Otomí languages, among others, with recommendations to pilgrims.
The headline also detailed that about 52 public servants of Profeco are attentive in the vicinity of the compound and five service modules have been installed for the faithful who arrive at the Basilica, in Mexico City.
Year after year, government agencies launch various operations to protect both visitors and residents of the area, which moves millions and millions of people for the religious celebration.
