The version that offers more autonomy begins its commercial journey to attract the public that is looking for an electric car with which to make long trips. CUPRA is already accepting orders. Initially it will only be available with four seats. Later, the model with five seats will be incorporated.
Important news is coming to the range of CUPRA’s only electric car. Finally the CUPRA Born incorporates the long-awaited 77 kWh battery into its offer. A higher capacity battery that translates into a Born with more autonomy. The order book for the most powerful option with the greatest range of autonomy has been opened. Now, there is an important detail to keep in mind.
In its first commercial stage, the new Born with a 77 kWh battery will only be available in a four-seater configuration. CUPRA has confirmed that next August a version with five seats will be included that, logically, will offer a plus of practicality.

The autonomy of the new CUPRA Born with a 77 kWh battery
Beyond the equipment, what is truly important about this new version lies in the entrails of the vehicle. The 77 kWh (net capacity) lithium-ion battery is intended to power a single motor that has a peak power of 170 kW (231 hp) and 310 Nm of maximum torque. He is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds. The sprint from 0 to 50 km/h, very important for driving in urban environments, is completed in 2.7 seconds respectively. The maximum speed reaches 160 km/h.
The autonomy of the new Born with 77 kWh battery is 546 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. The average energy consumption is situated, in the best of cases, at 15.8 kWh per 100 km. Regarding charging times, they will vary depending on the electrical outlet used. It takes 7 hours and 30 minutes to fully recharge the battery via the Mennekes Mode 3 connector. Using a 13 kW DC charging point, it will only take 36 minutes to go from 5 to 80%. Therefore, in about 7 minutes of charging, 100 km of autonomy can be obtained.

It is important to point out that El Born is eligible for aid from the MOVES III Plan. Aid that reaches €7,000 for the purchase of an electric car. In addition, the brand itself is offering a base discount of €1,210, which allows the model’s starting price to be considerably reduced.
