Finally AMD has put the cards on the table. The company directed by Lisa Su has fully presented its new line of processors, the AMD Ryzen 7000. Through a conference all the key details of the CPUs have been revealed.
Among the main features we come across the Zen 4 architecture, which is capable of hosting cores with frequencies of up to 5.70 GHz, which was already revealed months ago. With a 5-nanometer manufacturing process, single-core performance improves on Zen 3 by 29%.
We can count on 16 cores and 32 processing threads along with PCI-Express 5.0 interface and DDR5 RAM. Therefore, we will have at our disposal up to four models to choose from, the following being with their corresponding performance:
To give us an idea, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X exceeds the performance of the Intel Core i9-12900K by 57% and improves energy efficiency by 47%, according to AMD itself. In the case of the entry range, AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, a graphic has been shared with the improvements for various works such as Shadows of Mordor or Rainbow Six Siege.
Date and prices
Now it’s time to resolve the main issues. All AMD Ryzen 7000 models will see the light in stores from September 27, dancing the price figures between $299 for the Ryzen 5 7600X and $699 for the Ryzen 9 7950X. In the case of the Ryzen 9 7900X, the price will be $549, while the Ryzen 7 7700X is set at $399.
The question remains as to whether the prices in euros will be equal to those in dollars or if the difference will be really marked.
