Jessica Allen never thought that the incredible case of expecting two babies at the same time and from two different parents would happen to her.
The 31-year-old woman rented her womb for a couple and underwent IVF in California, United States. Everything was going well, she became pregnant and at six weeks she was notified that she was expecting twins.
Allen supposed that the couple’s embryo had split in two and that is why he could give them identical twins, the woman explained to the American network ABC.
When the babies were born it was discovered that they were not identical. Mandatory DNA tests were carried out for the situation of the belly rental and it was found that one of them was Jessica’s biological son, while the other was the product of IVF.
This peculiar mess is known as superfetation and so far less than 12 cases have been documented.
“I rented my uterus, and they almost took my own son,” Allen told the New York Post, adding that he had to go through legal process to get his baby back and raise him with his partner.
