The Polestar brand officially announces its arrival in Spain. The very interesting firm of electrified vehicles breaks into our market and does so by renouncing the dealers. So how will their cars be sold? Polestar details how its cars will be distributed and sold. The Polestar 2 will be the first model to be available.
It was long-awaited news and it has finally been officially announced. Polestar has arrived in Spain. The very interesting brand of electrified vehicles breaks into our market as part of the expansion process that it is carrying out throughout the Old Continent. In northern Europe the company already has some experience and, in certain markets, it is achieving notable commercial success if we take into account how concise its product offering is.
In his assault on our “old bull skin” the Polestar range will consist of a single model. The Polestar 2. The Swedish firm’s first serial production electric car landed in a segment where competition is fierce. It is directly rivaling models as relevant as the Tesla Model 3 and the CUPRA Born. All this without losing sight of the next launches that will be carried out in the category.
Polestar’s first electric car goes on sale in Spain
The prices of the Polestar 2 were confirmed at the end of last March. At that time we already anticipated that the brand would imminently announce its entry into our market. Now, the company goes one step further and indicates that the Polestar 2 can be tested in the cities of Madrid and Barcelona from next May. It will be a way of bringing your model closer to the Spanish public.
Now, how is Polestar focusing its expansion throughout the Spanish territory? Will you sell your cars at Volvo dealers? Will you establish your own network of points of sale? The truth is that the company has opted for a distribution and sales format that at first glance may seem too risky. Polestar will not have dealers in Spain and will sell its cars through the internet.
The new Polestar 2, which is already in Spain from around €47,000, can be ordered through the brand’s website. Reservations for test drives are also made online. Polestar ensures that the online purchase process is very simple. The entire process is 100% digital.
Polestar rules out the opening of traditional dealerships
Instead of carrying out the enormous financial investment involved in filling a territory with traditional dealers, Polestar will prioritize the digital environment and will open a few Polestar Spaces in strategic enclaves. Polestar’s first physical store in Spain will be in Barcelona and will open its doors next June. Later a second establishment will be added in Madrid.
