The gaming community is constantly inventing new terms and new players may not know the meaning of some of them, so Sony decided to create the definitive glossary and published it through the official PlayStation blog.
“Discover the definition of some of the most popular words, terminology and slang in video games”, says the post on the PlayStation Blog. This glossary is ideal for those who want to understand a new gaming community that uses specific terms like buff, aggro, grind, and many more.

Some of the most well-known terms that we can find in the PlayStation list are Aggro, which is used to refer to the attention of enemies to players in a game; AoE, for area of effect attacks; Bots, to refer to computer controlled players; and F2P for free to play games.
You may not need to know all of these terms, as some are only used by certain communities. For example, for RPG games it might be useful to know the meaning of Buff, a temporary improvement for players; Drops or Loot, which refers to the objects that enemies drop; and Grinding, which consists of doing a task repeatedly, generally to get resources or level up.
