Knack could be back in his third game.
While up to three PlayStation announcements are rumored for this week, Sony Interactive Entertainment has registered a new trademark for the Knack saga. Detected today by the means of Gematsuthe patent covers terms of use in several categories including “downloadable or installable home video game machine program and additional data”, which is all an indication of the possible announcement of Knack 3.
Although there are no rumors or claims about the development of the third installment of Knack, the truth is that the last game in the saga was released in September 2017. Although this registration could simply be a trademark update or periodic renewalThe truth is that if the game has not generated a large number of sales, it could remain as a saga for the smallest PlayStation players or directly for lovers of the genre.
The first Knack games were run by Mark Cerney, the architect of the PlayStation 5 system. However, the original title, launched for PlayStation 4, was seen by many players as a mere technical demonstration of the capabilities of the console. Furthermore, its developer, Japanese Studio, it disbanded last yearbeing reorganized by Sony as “a new organization”.
In this way, the iconic developer behind sagas such as Ape Escape, Gravity Rush and more has seen its staff dissolve, so it is now unknown which studio could work on Knack 3. It is true that Team Asobi has made Astro Boy a saga to the point that its protagonist has become the mascot of PS5, so it would be surprising if they were now in charge of making Knack succeed in his third game.
Do you think the Knack 3 announcement is possible?
