Following the release of Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7, PlayStation only has God of War: Ragnarok in the pipeline for this year, but it stands to reason that the company has other projects yet to be announced for next year and beyond. According to an animator from the company, PlayStation has in hand something as important as God of War: Ragnarok. I mean, something very big.
This statement comes from Robert Morrison, a cutscenes animator at PlayStation Studios Visual Arts. In early March, Morrison tweeted “that feeling when you have 3-5 years of work you can’t show“, affirming days later that “PlayStation has some successes that will come out this year.” It was not until this April when the animator gave some more specific details of what he is working on, and it would be a great unannounced PlayStation project.

Specifically, last week Morrison participated in Portfolio Day sharing a scene from God of War followed by a message that said: “sometimes, I animate characters who get sad. Everything I do is a team effort. And sometime this year i will be able to post new stuff“. Everyone understood that God of War Rgnarok was working, but it seems not to be the case, although Morrison points out that it is “something equally cool”.
I’m not working on Ragnarok. But something equally cool.

Upcoming PlayStation Projects
At the moment it is not entirely clear which game this animator could be referring to, but some sources suggest that It could be the remake of The Last of Usbecause the Sony Visual Arts Support Group would have been the one leading the development before passing into the hands of Naughty Dog and serving as a support group.
If Morrison’s words are true, the game could arrive this year. At the beginning of the year, insider Tom Henderson assured that there are two The Last of Us projects that would arrive between the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023.
