The Call of Duty: Warzone player community has a lot of surprises added with the arrival of Caldera, but many players want some things that have shined in other Battle Royales to be incorporated. The battle royale market has been flooded with top-tier titles in recent years, with Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Warzone continuing to lead the way from the foundations laid by H1Z1 and PUBG.
Something that we find quite curious is that it is not surprising to see some developers take inspiration from their rivals in the form of new features. It’s something that Raven Software is doing in Warzone Season 2, bringing the concept of Redeploy Apex Balloons to Caldera.
Some players would like to see Raven come back from the pit and use other Apex features, one of which is the trending ping system to communicate with teammates a little easier. The ping system in Warzone has become an annoyance for players, and as redditor Paul-Bag pointed out, it seems to have “gotten worse” after the integration with Call of Duty: Vanguard.
“Can we get a ping system that actually pings where your crosshair is instead of pinging any vehicle or loot piece that might be within a 10 mile radius of where you’re pinging?” they asked, noting the problems that have arisen recently.
“They could be inspired by Apex, I wouldn’t mind that even if it was copied and pasted,” said one fan, while others were “surprised” not to see it included with all the quality of life fixes in the Season 2 patch. Some they claimed that there is a delay in the actual ping, which also causes headaches. “Around early 2020 it broke and is now lagging and also much less accurate,” they added.
