The series Plants vs. Zombies has always been characterized by its games in the form of tower defense and also by the series of shooters that it left us. In addition to all of them, it seems that Electronic Arts had the intention of developing another title in the form of a spin-off and that it would be a single player experiencealthough this was cancelled.
As IGN reports all this, an EA Vancouver team of about 30 people began working on this game in 2015, which was going to have gameplay similar to Batman: Arkham and Uncharted in which a teenager would join to plants to fight hordes of zombies while traveling through time.
At first it was going to have the name of Project Hot Tub and the players would visited different historical periods. The abilities of our protagonist would have been based on the plant that he had as a companion in order to shoot, illuminate dark places or to use melee attacks. There would have even been the possibility of playing in some sections in the role of his sister.
All this in order to explore other fields in the franchise and incidentally offer more proposals for a single player. It was even expected to have it ready for 2017, but for some reason Electronic Arts did not want to go ahead with the project, despite going from strength to strength.
Thus, the company canceled it and preferred to allocate all resources to the development of Visceral Games’ Star Wars video game. In fact, we already know that this last one did not come to fruition either, so we will stay with the question of whether the title of Plants vs. Zombies would have worked well or not.
