A new eco-friendly bet: Adidas launched this week its Stan Smith Mules Plant and Grow, made with vegan and recyclable materials. The slip on will be available in the middle of this month.
The Stan Smith Mules are models similar to flip flops with elements of Adidas shoes, such as laces. They are an example of comfort, turning the freedom of being at home into a way of life, wherever the person is.
“Put them on and let the fresh silhouette inspire laid-back vibes,” detailed Adidas on its official website. “Walks in the park or walks in the city? Keep them by your door so you can bring casual comfort on the go. Leave them by the door when you come back. Repeat”.
They were released in 2021, and now they have a new iteration inspired by nature.
So are the Adidas Stan Smith Mules Plant and Grow
The Plant and Grow model, in Spanish Planta y Crece, uses a color scheme with an earthy brown look, with recycled and vegan materials in all its dimensions.
As it explains Hypebeast’s description, The upper of the shoe is made of light brown synthetic leather, with the traditional Adidas three stripes in its subtle, perforated form.
It has a lime green textile lining to accentuate the look, while the insole uses a Plant and Grow stamp.
A darker brown gives the laces more accent, while the tongue is light brown, with the classic silhouette of the face of Stan Smith, the tennis player who gave rise to the Adidas shoes that bear his name. The outsole is made of speckled rubber.
When would the new iteration of the Stan Smith Mules be available?
The Adidas Stan Smith Mules Plant and Grow don’t yet have an official release date, but retailers like Asphaltgold showed that it will be from August 20, for a price of 101 dollars.
