The Italian brand has selected the compounds that the 20 drivers will be able to use in the next four races of the championship. The five available for the 2022 Formula 1 season will be present in at least one of them.
Pirelli has selected the new compounds for the next four races of the Formula 1 World Championshipwhich will be held at the Imola, Miami, Barcelona and Monaco circuits during the months of April and May.
Although in the last appointment held in Australia, Pirelli chose to skip a compound in order to promote greater strategic uncertainty, the experiment did not have the expected results and for the next races the Italian firm will return to its usual habit of selecting three consecutive compounds.
In the case of Emilia-Romagna and Miami Grands Prix, the teams will have to compete with the intermediate range: the compounds C2, C3 and C4. Instead, both in Spain and in Monaco, Pirelli has opted for the extremes, the hardest for Barcelona and the softest for the Principality.
Tire selection for the 2022 Formula 1 season
These elections do not imply any revolution in regard to other seasons, since it is nothing more than the continuation of the common trend. It is also common for Pirelli to make a Conservative selection on new circuits, as the case of Miami. The American urban track, which makes its debut in Formula 1, will feature the intermediate compounds.
