The coach defines himself as “eclectic” in that sense when it comes to launching proposals on the playing field and Its main idea is to be able to achieve an offensive team.
At this point, it is worth remembering that he is a strategist who takes the statistics of having the ball possession, since it is considered a very important means to exert an advantage over the rival. Therefore, they seek to prioritize the forceful offense and appeal to speed to be well positioned in defense in case of a counterattack. In that sense, he works a lot with the players who act as wingers or wingers and seeks to have a fairly physical team. Together with Walter Rivera, their physical trainer, they pay attention to GPS numbers, dosage of loads in training and the athletic preparation of the players.
Regarding flexibility or rethinking during the course of a match, Restrepo indicated in an interview with newspaper AS de Colombia that the idea of the game is shaped according to the rival as long as it faces a team whose strengths are on the wings or, rather, in the center. He plays according to the eleven in front of him.
