This week CD Projekt RED has made a broadcast to talk about the Cyberpunk Edgerunners animated series and to reveal that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive the Phantom Liberty expansion next year, which will be The first and the only with which the action RPG will have, as the Polish study has stated.
This has been dropped by Adam Kiciński at a meeting for investors that has taken place, ensuring that the content of the game will not be expanded again once this DLC is published sometime in 2023. However, that does not want say that this is going to be the end of the franchise.
In Kiciński’s own words, it seems that the team intends to move on with this universe that he must still have rope for a while:
We decided to release a big expansion using the potential of the new generation of consoles. At the same time, I would like to emphasize that we want to further develop the Cyberpunk IP. We have invested a lot of time and effort in building this brand and we have every intention of developing it further.
Time will tell how the universe of cyberpunk beyond the current game and the series that will premiere on Netflix in 2023. Maybe a sequel, a movie or with merchandise? What is certain is that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty It will be released in a few months and only on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Stadia.
