Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a single expansion, despite promising several in the past…
CD Projekt RED announced yesterday Phantom Liberty, the first major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. Although the game had more DLC planned, the truth is that its complicated premiere has ended up causing the developer bets on making a single expansion which will only reach PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC, leaving behind the PS4 and Xbox One versions, which will even stop receiving support after version 1.60.
After posting the Phantom Liberty trailer, a user wrote a comment reflecting their excitement about the expansion and the future of the game, to which CD Projekt RED responded: “Delighted to hear that it has motivated your interest. As for the future, Phantom Liberty is the only expansion planned for Cyberprunk 2077“.
Of course, to think of the good aspect of Phantom Liberty, knowing that this will be the only expansion of Cyberpunk 2077 has fallen like a jug of cold water after the developer confessed that she was working on at least two expansions along with a multiplayer mode. “I can assure you that we are working on expansions and things for you”, they said in their day when “we are still improving the game because we are all aware that there is work to be done”.
This is how the plans for Cyberpunk 2077 have changed
The plans for the future of Cyberpunk 2077 have changed with evidence, since the two great expansions of the game were going to be in the purest style of The Witcher 3, with the award-winning Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine. Luckily, the free DLC that the Polish company promised are coming, although it seems to be focusing squarely on the new The Witcher game, which although The Witcher 4 is not considered to be the next big release from a developer who has lost confidence of many players.
Luckily, CD Projekt RED is constantly improving Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion looks very interesting. Will the game finish its final content with the quality that it promised to have?
