- Pfizer makes it a priority to improve access to medicines for eligible people through affordable prices.
- The IUdo application assists people who are in its support programs by providing them with greater accessibility to medicines through a digitized journey.
- The app is already available in Mexico and will be rolled out to other emerging market countries in the coming months.
Mobile applications have become practical tools that offer a wide range of possibilities. The variety is so extensive that it ranges from entertainment to health related functions. With this in mind, Pfizer presented a new digital tool that was created to improve access to medicines and adherence to treatments.
The total number of apps is quite complicated to define. According to Statista in 2015 there were more than 1.6 million options available on Google Play. Although at present the figure must be much higher because new options are created every day around the world.
However, to improve people’s health and present advances that can change their lives through prioritizing increasing affordability and general access to medicines now there is a new option.
What does it consist of?
In this sense, Pfizer presented iudo, an innovative digital platform for eligible people in Mexico. This mobile application is designed to facilitate access to medications for those who are in their support programs, in addition to improving their experience and that of the health professional by accelerating program enrollment.
It also stands out because it provides ongoing access to supportive treatment plans. Increases the scale and reach of programs and allows the tour to be managed directly from their mobile phones.
The launch of this app shows the company’s objective to take advantage of digital platforms and technologies that allow effective and scalable solutions, including support programs, within the reach of people.
Such platforms can help better address specific needs, while improving quality of care, as well as convenience, and reducing the burden of high-cost, ongoing care.
“Our purpose is to strengthen health care systems, improve access for those who need it most, and support our communities. In order to stay true to this, we strive to improve affordability and access to our medicines while enhancing the journey and experience for people through digital platforms. By launching this application in Mexico, we continue to be at the forefront of digital innovation in the field of pharmaceutical healthcare, particularly in Latin America. Most importantly, however, we believe this tool will help close the gaps in the individual journey by allowing them to navigate, monitor, and control their program journey, whenever they want, wherever they are,” said Constanza Losada, President and General Director of Pfizer Mexico.
At the moment, IUdo is available to eligible people who are part of the support programs for people in Mexico and will be rolled out in other emerging market countries in the coming months.
