In the captivity that lives, Rocket meets Lylla, Teefs and Floor (an otter, a walrus and a rabbit) with whom he also sand experience. The portrait that is made of this tender group of friends is heartbreaking. We see how the body of the animals has been modified several times, until leaving them with robotic prostheses.
Besides, the feature film also argues for empathy towards all creaturesnot only towards those who are equal to us.

PETA celebrates Guardians of the Galaxy 3
And it’s all these messages about caring for animals that made me Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 deserves a congratulations, and even an award, from PETA.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 It does something few movies have done: it tells a beautiful, compassionate story about animal testing for an audience the size of Marvel.” can be read in a statement from the organization. “The film features beautifully animated animals, including Rocket, Lylla, Floor and Teefs, who take moviegoers on an emotional roller coaster ride while exposing the evils of animal testing. James Gunn’s script doesn’t stray from a tough (but often true to life) theme, and we’re delighted with a story about having empathy for all living things.”
In the same writing, PETA highlights that the film’s script has not been afraid to show the harsh reality that captive animals face for experimentation as:
- youtattoos on the chest or in the ears to give them an identification key
- Jsmall classrooms without any comfort
- D.devices to support the animals while the experiments are carried out
- Lcuriosity as the sole purpose behind this type of evidence in many of the cases
“For this kind of kind and compelling portrayal of Rocket and his friends, and remind the audience that animals tortured in laboratories are sentient creatures and it’s not the numbers tattooed on them, PETA honors Gunn (who is the director of the film) with the They Are Not a Number Award”, add the newsletter.
