An insider has been the one who has dropped the news, although for now he does not have too many details.
Fans of Persona 5 may be in for a treat, as the universe of the title of Atlus could continue to expand. Apparently, according to a new rumour, the JRPG will have a new spin-off which will be part of the celebration of the 25 years of Persona.
It is not at all strange that there is talk of a new spin-off of the Atlus title, since we have been able to see games like Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, a musical rhythm game; or the most recent Persona 5: Strikers. Well, now via Zippo Insiderit is said that Goro Akechi, one of the game’s characters, will have his own title.
Akechi is a young detective who collaborates with the police and, apparently, this could be very important in the aforementioned spin-off.. It is worth mentioning that, without going into details, the character is one of the key characters in Persona 5, but, above all, he stands out even more in Persona 5 Royal (the expanded version, from 2020, of the original), since it is where delve deeper into the character itself.
Actually, the aforementioned insider does not have a very good reputation, but his recent successes during the last Nintendo Direct could have placed him on a better streak of credibility. Returning to the news, in his blog we can read the following: “We will have many more announcements of Persona”, says Zippo. “Details are scant at this time, but I have been told not to expect an RPG, it will focus on your adventures and skills as a star detective“, he adds in the aforementioned post. In this way, he could be indicating that the game will tell the story of how Akechi became the detective he is. Even so, for now there are no more details about the possible project, the insider himself has mentioned that he will update his post as he has more details.
In addition to the aforementioned spin-off starring Akechi, Zippo has previously spoken of other titles that would be announced in the coming months, on the occasion of Persona’s anniversary. Among those possible games in the franchise, the insider has mentioned a remaster of Persona 3 and versions of Persona 4 Golden for PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
