A couple of years ago it was announced Perfect Dark reboot, which will reach the new generation in the coming years exclusively on Xbox Series X|S. The new Perfect Dark is being developed by The Initiative in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, but last month the game’s creative director left the project.
The creative director of the new Perfect Dark it was Dan Neuburger, who left The Initiative in February, according to his LinkedIn profile. Neuburger had worked at The Initiative for over four years and was the director of the Tomb Raider games made by Crystal Dynamics.

This would be the second time that the Perfect Dark project for the new generation has lost an important member of its team, since in February of last year it was learned that the design director Drew Murray had left The Initiative. At the time it was only known that Murray was leaving The Initiative for personal reasons, but he said it was extraordinary to have worked closely with such a talented team as The Initiative.
The Initiative is a development studio led by Darrel Gallagher, who is also in charge of Crystal Dynamics, best known for developing the latest Tomb Raider and Marvel’s Avengers games. This relationship may have led to the announcement in September of last year that Crystal Dynamics is working with The Initiative on Perfect Dark, so we can expect a focus on character development.

Despite the talent leaving The Initiative, since April of last year it was said that there are still years to go before we see the new Perfect Dark on Xbox Series X|S, so Neuburger’s departure should not have a negative impact on development of the game.
