Currently, most Mexican consumers carry out their transactions using cash as a means of payment – coins and bills – issued by a central bank, such as the Bank of Mexico. All businesses that receive cash review it several times, perhaps as many as 10, before depositing it in the bank, where it is counted again. Processes like these seem archaic, to say the least. In contrast, digital transactions are much more efficient and dynamic.
