In the last year in Argentina, the number of SMEs that joined digital solutions to Mercado Pago digital banking doubled, Geographically, this action stood out in the NEA and NOA regions and in Patagonia.
Patagonia registered, according to the report and official statement from the bank, 145% of activity while NEA and NOA showed a doubling of 153%. Other territories were also active such as Centro and CUYO with 116% and lastly, CABA and Buenos Aires with 61%,
This increase in digital payments showed increases in different environments of daily life in relation to 2021, this year, those that stood out the most were: leisure services with 146%, food with 88%, consumer goods with 74% and other services with 52%.
Regarding the sources, “For the most part, SMEs state that they choose Mercado Pago as their main account due to its simplicity and convenience as a comprehensive solution”according tohe results obtained in a survey, at least 25% stated that they use Mercado Pago for its simplicity while only 18% do so because their customers also use it.
Another survey carried out showed that for September of the current year, the predominant digital banking functionalities are service payments, which is used by 61% of SMEs, 52% pay suppliers and 39% pay with a prepaid card.
In this same time range, it was found that, of the 36% registered in 2020, currently 42% of SMEs made investments through Mercado Pago. In addition, 35% accessed credits.
The incorporation of Mercado Pago to SMEs implies an increase in quality in the market as well as in functionalities available to the public, such as: recharging telephones and antennas, card and QR readers, and money deposits and withdrawals.
