After the launch of ChatGPT, OpenAI was positioned at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence. And while we were waiting for news about this language model, the company led by Sam Altman surprised us with the announcement of Sora, a generative model capable of creating videos with astonishing precision and that promises to be a new technological revolution.
Yes ok There is still no clear date for its release to the public.recently OpenAI CTO Mira Murati gave an interview with The Wall Street Journal in which he provided new details about this long-awaited AI. The most important? Which will be available this year.
Prompt: “Animated scene features a close-up of a short fluffy monster kneeling beside a melting red candle. the art style is 3d and realistic, with a focus on lighting and texture. the mood of the painting is one of wonder and curiosity, as the monster gazes at the flame with… pic.twitter.com/aLMgJPI0y6

The release of Sora is coming
According to Murati, currently Sora is in a closed testing phaseaccessible only to the OpenAI red team and a select group of designers, filmmakers and visual artists.
This is a period of testing that seeks identify vulnerabilities and refine the tool based on creative feedback, which is why the exact release date has not yet been confirmed.
Of course, the company's CTO opened the possibility of a gradual rollout or global launch by 2024hoping that the new European Union regulation on artificial intelligence will not influence delaying these plans.
In that sense, one of the most anticipated developments is the possible addition of audio to videos generated by Sora, which would further improve the quality of your creations. Furthermore, he acknowledged that OpenAI is developing editing tools that are expected to be available to users, thus expanding the expected capabilities of the tool.
Of course there are no interviews without awkward moments. Queried by the database for the generation of content through this AI, Murati didn't know what to answer.. And he avoided detailing whether information from platforms such as Facebook, Instagram or YouTube is being used.
“If they were publicly available for use, they may be in the data, but I'm not sure,” she said, confirming that the licensed materials included the Shutterstock content.
Me: What data was used to train Sora? Youtube videos?
OpenAI CTO: I'm actually not sure about that…(I really do encourage you to watch the full @WSJ interview where Murati did answer a lot of the biggest questions about Sora. Full interview, ironically, on YouTube:… pic.twitter.com/51O8Wyt53c

The competition with artificial intelligences such as Leonardo.ai, Midjourney or Dall-e is more active than ever. Sora promises to take the lead in this race, but we still have to see the scope of its launch and the tools that it will allow you to use both in its paid and free mode.
