Stellantis’ new strategy involves presenting its models and giving itself a period until commercialization to manufacture models and satisfy demand, reducing delivery times. In Germany, Opel has a large stock of electric models that are not being given the expected output.
The microchip crisis has the vast majority of manufacturers on the ropes, so the units they receive are assigned to the most profitable models. Each brand traces its strategy, and in the particular case of Stellantis, it can be said that they are moderately intelligent. And every risk has a consequence. The lightning mark has dedicated the received semiconductors to the corsa-e, Mokka e, Combo-e Life Y Vivaro-eand neither is getting the output they expected, accumulating more than 2000 units in stock of the four models. A special situation that is only affecting all dealers in Germany.
Andreas Marx, head of Opel Germany, has pointed out that “Our strategy allows customers to quickly switch to electric mobility. We offer a wide selection of battery-powered electric emotion models that are fully suitable for everyday use. Opel customers can rest assured that we will continue to do everything necessary to keep delivery times for these models as short as possible.”
The German division of the lightning firm encourages customers to take the step towards more sustainable mobility with a zero-emission model, anticipating the new objective that Opel has set: in 2028, its entire range will be fully electric, and without any other type of propulsion system. To encourage customers, Opel managers in the German country have indicated that clients will not wait more than 20 weeks, five monthsto have a battery-powered electric car configured to taste.
