One Piece has caused an absolute stir among the otaku community, artists dedicated to the complex world of cosplay and even among casual viewers. All thanks to the brutal adaptation he made Netflix to the original story in its first season.
However, it is too early to claim victory or even have an idea of what is going to happen in the near future. Both the One Piece manga and anime are extraordinarily long, with a brutal number of arcs and a gallery of characters that seems almost infinite.
The first season of the series on Netflix has just a dozen episodes and covered a minimal part of the original story of the manga and its animated adaptation. While in radical contrast, as of October 24, 2023, the anime has already aired its 1,080th episode and is not slowing down its relentless pace.
So, considering Netflix’s history and the high cost demands in the production of this adaptation, the chances that the Live-Action be as extensive as the anime feel like few others.
This would mean that perhaps many characters would be left out of the live-action series. There are some obvious ones that will survive the discard process and make it to the screen, but there are some very beloved ones that we may never see in the flesh.
The case that we share with you today may correspond to this parameter, but it has been saved thanks to a kind artist.
Jinbe gets real with this cool cosplay in honor of One Piece
Jinbe is a character from the One Piece manga series, created by Eiichiro Oda who does not appear in the manga until Vol. 54, chapter 528 and episode 430 of the anime. So there is a long stretch of history left to see in the Netflix series.
This guy is a fishman, a race of humanoids with features of marine animals, which has the appearance of a whale shark. His most memorable role in the One Piece mythology is his position as helmsman of the Straw Hat Pirates, the crew led by our protagonist. Monkey D. Luffy.
He is in fact the tenth member to end up joining this gang and his incorporation is something relatively important at the time for the plot. Although he currently does not have the same weight among the cast.
Fortunately, the cosplay artist known on TikTok as @natylikespizza He ended up taking pity on the good Jinbe and made him a memorable cosplay tribute that we can see here:
