It is said that a mother’s love is infinite. But what happens when this becomes an obsession with the wrong child? That is the premise of Out of sight, a Mexican film that is about to hit theaters and that promises to leave the public with great reflection. Here we present the trailer, the cast, and everything you need to know.
Synopsis
Ojos que no ven is a thriller that follows the story of Elena, the librarian in charge of a private school. She doesn’t get over the tragic loss of her son. Her monotonous life is disrupted when a new boy arrives at school with whom she becomes obsessed and treats as her son. One day she decides to take it with her, generating a crisis in her real mother, Andrea, who will do everything possible to get it back.
The cast and production crew
In order to bring such intense emotions to the big screen, director Alfonso Zárate chose two great actresses for this, his debut feature. Arcelia Ramírez plays the confused Elena, while Fernanda Castillo gives life to Andrea, capable of anything to recover her son.
In an interview for Excelsior, Ramírez spoke about how complicated it is to address a topic like motherhood, and what attracted her to star in this thriller.
“I thought it was a magnificent story and a very complex character, the journey he takes in history is very complicated. A path ambiguous enough to not be sure if he was losing his mind or if he was effectively responding to what his eyes, his heart and his instincts were seeing. He is a character to whom the worst thing that can happen to a mom or dad happens. She survives and has to take medication to not go crazy, I liked all of that about this story ”.
Within the cast we can also find Flavio Medina, Héctor Kotsifakis, Karla Garrido, Luciana González de León, and Alexis de la Rosa. The director, Alfonso Zárate, received a great reception with Fear, a previous short film that was an official selection at the Morelia International Film Festival. Zárate wrote the script together with Sandra Flores Urrea, the music is by Tomás Barreiro (Fine Girls, Museum), and photography, by Santiago Sánchez (the dandy).
Why is it worth giving it a try?
Faced with a Mexican cinema that usually fills the billboard with romantic comedies, it is refreshing to have a representative of genres that are rarely given such diffusion. In the words of its director, Blind Eyes bets on a new perspective of the characters.
“I wanted to make an intelligent film, for adults, now that there are a lot of films for children or adolescents. I was interested in peeking into the dark emotions of these characters, which are actually emotions that we all carry”, he commented to PECIME.
When it premieres Out of sight?

Juan Jose Cruz I am one of those who always defended Robert Pattinson as Batman and can see the same movie in the theater up to 7 times. My guilty pleasure? Low budget horror movie.
