The Redmond are a very multifaceted technology company. A company that began creating operating systems and whose business has been expanding to unsuspected limits, until it reached the console or cloud market.
And one of the key points of your business is undoubtedly Office, your office suite. Now the company has just released a new update of this for all Windows insiders. This new update, corresponding to the build 14430.20088, brings with it a large number of functions that reach both Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Add WebP images to your documents
The first of the novelties introduced in Office is the support of images in format WebP, a format that offers better compression when publishing images on the web. We will be able to access this new feature, which will be available for both Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, by accessing the Insert> Images> This device tab and selecting the image we want.
Support for OpenDocument 1.3 format
The next feature coming to Office is support for the latest version of the format Open Document. This adds support for a large number of features already supported by the format Office Open XML in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. To use this new format we will only have to click on File> Save As and under the file name choose the OpenDocument format from the drop-down menu.
Apply default sensitivity labels when modifying existing files
Until now, when we created a file, the default sensitivity labels configured by the administrator were applied automatically. Now, with this update, the labels will be applied whenever a document, spreadsheet, or presentation is created or modified.
More natural voices with Read Aloud
Many of us, whether to review a document or email or to give our eyes a break, make use of the function of reading aloud in Word and Outlook. Now this will be much more comfortable thanks to the new voices of Read Aloud, which will sound a lot more natural.
Hide the flyout to get information
Hovering in Excel over a query a preview flyout with information about that query appears in the task pane. Now Microsoft will offer us the possibility to hide this preview. To do this we will only have to enter the Data tab> Obtain data> Query options, and in the window that opens, enter Global> General and deactivate the option “Show query view”.
Turn off suggested responses
One of the features that most email clients have introduced is the automatic responses. A function that in many cases allows us to make quick responses to certain emails just by using the suggested text. However, it is possible that certain users do not want to use this function, and it may even be a nuisance for them, which is why Microsoft has introduced the possibility of disable this feature.
To do this, we will only have to enter Options> Files> Mail, and go to the Answers and Forwards section and deactivate the “Show suggested answers” box.
Learn about your organization with Org Explorer
The pandemic has made teleworking almost an obligation, a new way of working that makes it more difficult on many occasions for us to socialize and meet the people who join our company. Now that will be less of a problem thanks to Org explorer, a new Outlook application that will allow us contextualize, visualize and explore to the people and teams around us.
To access this new application we only have to click on the Org Explorer icon in the application bar on the left. This will open a new screen in which the people of our team or organization will appear, also allowing us to obtain more details about them when accessing their personal card.
The most important details of colleagues on your profile card
Likewise, in large companies it is not uncommon for many of our colleagues not to be on our own. time zone. Now we will only have to enter the profile card of the person in question and check their time zone and the time remaining for your work schedule.
