According to Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, basic level students in the State of Mexico you will enjoy an extensive Megabridge from November 1 to 5 on the occasion of the Day of the Dead. She has authorized three additional days of rest beyond the official calendar of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP). Consequently, students will not have classes from Wednesday, November 1 to Sunday, November 5.
This large Megabridge will allow students and their families to continue enjoying their Day of the Dead festivities, take the opportunity to take walks, or simply spend quality time at home with their loved ones.
Which states will enjoy the November Megabridge?
The governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez Álvarez, announced a five-day mega weekend for teachers and students in the State of Mexico, which spans from Wednesday, November 1 to Sunday, November 5. The measure was taken during an event with Mexican teachers.
Additionally, in Yucatán, school activities were suspended on November 1 and 2 in respect to the customs and traditions of the Day of the Dead, and in Acapulco, Guerrero, school activities remain suspended due to the damage caused by Hurricane Otis.

In this sense, Mexican legislation, specifically article 73 of the Federal Labor Law, clearly establishes the conditions under which an employee who works on a holiday must receive additional compensation.

This ensures that workers are not pressured to work on their rest days and that they are fairly compensated for the extra time and effort, giving them protection.
Why will there be a 5-day Megabridge in November?
The 5-day Megabridge originates due to the inclusion of the Day of the Dead holiday on November 2 in the official SEP calendar. The Union of Teachers in the Service of the State of Mexico (SMSEM) decided to extend the break by adding two more days, November 1 and 3.
Therefore, basic level students in the State of Mexico will enjoy a three-day long weekend, from November 1 to 3, followed by a two-day long weekend, from November 3 to 5.
What other days off will there be in November?
In November, at the national level, the official SEP calendar indicates that classes will end on Friday, November 24. However, in some schools, activities may be suspended from Thursday the 23rd due to administrative issues.
