The bear company is one of the 10 most important in Mexico.
The Picafresa is a small round strawberry candy Covered with chili and sugar, it is also one of the most loved by Mexicans, not only for its flavor but also for being one of the cheapest.
As a result of the current inflation that exists in Mexico, dozens of products increased their prices considerably, particularly those of junk food. Users on social networks remember when with 10 pesos you could buy more than two products, such as potatoes and a soft drink or juice, now you need more than triple that amount to be able to buy both.
The increase in the cost of sweets is due to the increase in the cost of sugarHowever, this has not stopped the consumption of products that use it, according to Statista, the income in Mexico during 2021 for sales of candied sweets (like the Picafresa) exceeded 16 billion dollarsplacing it as the best-selling candy.
The discussion about the price of the Picafresa has become relevant because supposedly they continue to maintain their cost of 1 peso and those who sell them do make a profit from said product since a bag of 200 pieces costs around 70 pesos. This means that selling all the product has an approximate income of 130 pesos.
On Facebook, a meme that has the legend “Mexican economy, the Picafresa always costing a peso” caused dozens of Internet users to debate the subject, as some point out that they have bought it more expensive, while others confirm that it continues to maintain said cost.
Some of the comments say that the vendors, having no change, offer a Picafresa and even others remember when they gave you three pieces for a peso.
The Mexican candy is multifaceted, even gastronomy has been inspired by it, creating recipes where it is the main ingredient, for example, ice pops, apples covered with Picafresa and topping in alcoholic beverages.
