The Spider-Man: No Way Home movie features classic Marvel villains and highlights that Electro looks different than the last time we saw him in theaters.
Marvel Studios It is not usually very complicated and any complex change gives a simple explanation satisfactory to all viewers. For example in Spider-Man: No Way Home we see Electro from Jamie Foxx looking very different from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), but that is because the energy of those two universes are different and therefore do not affect him in the same way.
Chris Waegner, SONY’s visual effects supervisor has revealed details of Electro’s appearance in the new movie from the Marvel Studios Cinematic Universe.
“For Spider-Man: No Way Home, we envisioned the electrical effects to be more violent and choppy with moments of sheer energy. The idea is that when it moves from one place to another or hovers around taunting our heroes, the electrical effects almost disorient our heroes. There is always an electrical storm in the air surrounding Electro, almost like being near a giant Tesla coil. He opened up so many creative possibilities for the artists by lighting these shots. Even if it wasn’t in the frame, once the electrical aspect had been done. Established, we had the ability to do dynamic lighting that posed the threat of him being around.”
“We did a deep dive investigating Electro’s updated look, reviewing many different real electrical events as we tried to determine what was best for him. We even went back to the comic, for reference and incorporated some of that into his new look.”
“If you just look at the lightning references, you can find all kinds of crazy visual things, there are so many different types of lightning. Electricity comes in so many different forms that we ended up creating an updated stylized look that we felt was both menacing and beautiful. While giving us some cinematic freedom in a night sky for our sequence.”
The movie Spider-Man: No Way Home It can still be enjoyed in theaters and has already grossed more than 1,691 million dollars. While the rest of deliveries of Marvel Studios is it so on the Disney Plus streaming platform.
