The arrival of new sports is already confirmed until October.
One of the great surprises that we could see in the already past Nintendo Direct of the month of February was the announcement of Nintendo Switch Sports, this being the sequel to the acclaimed title released on Wii and which managed to become one of the best selling games in history,
Having said all this, it should be noted that the title will launch with a total of six sports, highlighting here football, tennis, volleyball, badminton, bowling and fencing. However, in the same trailer that showed the title, it was already anticipated that more sports would come through updatesthe first of these being a new football modality available in the summer and the second being golf in the fall.
Nintendo Switch Sports, for now, will add two new sports by update
Under this premise, it must be said that as a result of the beta that could be enjoyed on the weekend of February 20, it has been possible to extract new datahighlighting here that, apparently, there are files that talk about new sports.
These would be basketball and dodgeballthe latter being the equivalent of dodgeball and which, depending on the schoolyard in which one grew up, has one name or another.
It must be said that more data from other sports has been found, although what they are has not been mentioned by Wipeoutjack7, the dataminer that has extracted these sports.
That yes, in spite of everything, for the moment the best thing that can be done is take this information with tweezers, since the evidence that these internal files exist in the game code is quite evident, but that does not mean that they may be discarded sports. Time will tell.
Another interesting thing found while datamining Switch Sports, the game references both “Basketball” and “Dodgeball” alongside the other playable sports. Could very well just be scrapped content, but mayyybe a potential future update? pic.twitter.com/mJb4SbaYM4

For the rest, we will have to see what the future of Nintendo Switch Sports is when it comes to adding new sports, since it is true that the initial six are far from reaching the figure that Wii Sports Resort had.
In fact, there are many who ask for more additions and updates in the future, so that they can surpass their two predecessors. In any case, it should be noted that Nintendo Switch Sports will launch on April 29.
