It’s been years since Nintendo Switch Online has offered classic NES and Super NES games along with the Nintendo Switch Online subscription, and after the arrival of the Expansion Pack he upped the ante with Nintendo 64 and SEGA Mega Drive games, in addition to the DLC of Animal Crossing: New Horizon and the new tracks of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The next natural step is to offer GameCube and Wii gamessuggests former Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aimé.
During an interview with CNETthe former director of Nintendo was asked if you think the mini consoles will return that became so popular a few years ago with the release of NES Mini and Super NES Mini, and other classic consoles from other manufacturers. Fils-Aimé’s answer is no. At least he wouldn’t I would bet on digital services.
If I had the opportunity, says the former manager, I would bring it to Nintendo Switch more nintendo 64 games and would do the same with other already classic company consoles, such as GameCube or Wii. “If I were to go back to Nintendo for a day, I would be much more focused on: How does the company take advantage of all of its great content? Deliver it to the consumer through that Nintendo online experience?”
“Nintendo still has more N64 content to take advantage of,” says Fils-Aimé. “They have GameCube content to take advantage of, they have Wii content. I see this future of content delivered digitally to you, the consumer, as this burgeoning opportunity that I would like to continue to take advantage of.”
A new Nintendo 64 game is coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack
At the moment there is no news that Nintendo has plans to take your Game Cube or Wii games to a subscription service like Nintendo Switch Online, especially if you can do simple remasters and charge them full price. What has been confirmed is that a new Nintendo 64 game comes to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, Pokémon Snap.
