Splatoon 3 will come to switch later this year. Just before the latest installment in the series arrives, Splatoon fans will be able to pick up a special edition Splatoon-themed Switch OLED. What’s more, on launch day, add-on accessories like a Pro Controller and carrying case will be released alongside the new game.
Nintendo has revealed the special edition console through a short trailer that you can see below. Like other switch themes that have been launched in the past, the model OLED from Splatoon is covered in a pattern with various characters and items from the game, including a bunch of Inklings. The Joy-cons that accompany the console are in the shades of green, yellowish, and purple most commonly associated with the series.
These colors clash a bit with the OLED console dock, which is still white like the base model, but they’re the only colors that really make sense for a Splatoon theme. There’s an added splash of yellow on the cover, which is also covered in the same pattern as the console and Joy-Cons. The same goes for the back of the console, which is black.
The pro controller that was revealed shortly after the console has a similar color scheme. Black in the center with yellow and purple lugs, although the entire pattern has been replaced with simple splashes in the black area and nothing on the lugs.
Last but not least, the case you’ll be carrying it all in if you’re a Splatoon fan enough to fork out all of the above is the same shade of white as the OLED dock with a yellow Splatoon zipper. It is not yet known how much each of the items will cost, but the console launches on August 26, and the other items will be available on the September 9 release date of Splatoon 3.
