There are still a few weeks to celebrate, but the Tokyo Game Show 2021 it already has its structure practically organized. Nintendo has been one of the last companies to confirm that will not attend the Japanese event which will start on September 30. Although it is clear that the company would bet on a Nintendo Direct rather than on a press conference, with the statement released on Twitter it has been made clear that it will not have positions at the fair and will be limited to «cooperate in the exhibition of independent games of other companies«.

Over the past few years, September has been a typical Nintendo Direct month loaded with news about the company’s scheduled releases for the end of the year and with a gap to announce more distant projects. In this way, with the month practically started, it is necessary to wait if the company will bet on repeating the formula this year.
What to expect from Tokyo Game Show 2021
The Tokyo Game Show 2021 will open virtually on Thursday, September 30 at 3:00 a.m. (UK time). This same day there will be live broadcasts from Xbox, Konami, Capcom and D3PUBLISHER, among others. On Friday, October 1, it will be the turn of a new Square Enix Presents and a 505 Games Showcase, although there will also be news from Bandai Namco, Level-5, SEGA and Atlas. On Saturday it will be the turn of Tencent Games and Koei Tecmo, among others, while on Sunday the event will close Arc System Works, GungHo Online Entertainmen, Ubisoft and miHoYo with the unstoppable Genshin Impact.
The end of the year for Nintendo Switch is already in place, after the launch of the OLED version of the hybrid console, games such as Metroid Dread, Mario Party Superstars, Shin Megami Tensei 5 or Pokémon Shining Diamond / Shining Pearl will follow. However, the company has sagas like Zelda or Splatoon with its sights set on 2022, so a Nintendo Direct could offer a lot of news on all these titles.
