Hearing his name, you immediately think of the black and blue colors of his uniform. However, artist Alex Ross redesigned Nightwing’s suit with a look closer to that of his mentor Batman.
In a recent post by Ross on his Twitter, the illustrator shared a redesign of Dick Grayson’s costume inspired by that of the Dark Knight. Ross’s proposal for Dick Grayson makes us think that it would be a modern as well as timeless and excellent suit for Robin, since it is very similar to the graphic line of Batman and would make a better set with that of the Caped Crusader. Even more so if he thinks about how poorly the Boy Wonder’s characteristic yellow cape, gloves, underpants and green dung and orange vest have aged.
The new proposal also includes a cape, a hood under which the mask is hidden and an inverted bird symbol on the chest.

In addition to the sketch version of Nightwing’s suit, Alex Ross has also shared colored versions of his designs. In these we see that the layer is black and the symbol is yellow.
