Released in 2010, Fallout: New Vegas stands out as a landmark installment in the long-running post-apocalyptic franchise. Easily considered by many to be the best Fallout game ever released, its fantastic story and writing have made it more memorable than the other installments for some, especially when compared to the modern take added to games since Bethesda took over. in 2008.
Nevertheless, Fallout: New Vegas it’s aged over the last decade, and a recently released video shows what the game could look like with a more modern engine. Images created by the YouTube channel, TeaserPlay, show what Fallout: New Vegas could look like if it were remade today in Unreal Engine 5.
As you can imagine, the Mojave Wasteland looks quite spectacular in this dev kit, displaying intricate detail as well as fantastic lighting as many have come to expect from this engine. It should be noted that the video does not represent any remake, official or otherwise, that is currently in the works, and is only a concept trailer.
If this idea sounds familiar to you, it is because TeaserPlay has published numerous trailers of this type. They recently posted a video showing what Grand Theft Auto 3 could look like in Unreal Engine 5. They have also done concepts for Vice City, Assassin’s Creed, Resident Evil 4, Red Dead Revolver and many more.
It’s an interesting project, as it not only shows the potential of reimagining old games in newer toolsets, but also gives a glimpse of how advanced gaming technology has come in even a short space of time.
