A novelty at the 2022 Paris Motor Show, the Rhombus brand unveils the new Renault Kangoo Combispace E-Tech Electric. For the first time in the history of the model, the 100% electric version of the mixed-use van is released.
The total electrification strategy for Renault’s commercial vehicle range takes another step forward. The French brand arrives at the 2022 Paris Motor Show with a long-awaited novelty, a new 100% electric mixed-use van with a long range. Its about new Renault Kangoo Combispace E-Tech Electrican option for both professionals and individuals.
Aesthetically, this more versatile version of the Renault Kangoo keeps the design of the combustion model and also of the purely commercial variant of the Kangoo Van e-Tech Electric, with a large front grille that houses the battery charging port under the manufacturer’s emblem. A model that will be marketed in three versions and that will be distinguished by specific details, both on the outside and in the equipment.
Three versions of the Renault Kangoo Combispace E-Tech Electric
The “authentic» will be the most basic stepping stone, with a mixed use configuration, and will be followed by «balance” Y “techno». The first will be the perfect option for agencies, also with a mixed-use interior configuration, which will be able to remove the second-row seats and expand cargo volume.
The third option is committed to the qualities of a top of the range, presenting special details on the exterior and interior, as well as equipment that will offer greater comfort on board, such as the heated windshield or heated front seats and steering wheel. The new Kangoo E-Tech Electric will feature an analog instrument panel as standard, and digital color and with a diagonal of 10 inches only in the version as an option.
The multimedia screen of the “Easy Link” multimedia system is tactile and will have advanced information on the propulsion system. The French brand also adds a new automatic climate control with heat pump to ensure optimal use of battery power. Renault has pointed out that the heat pump will offer so much efficiency, that it will reserve up to 85 kilometers of electric autonomy.
More efficiency than performance in the new Renault Kangoo Combispace E-Tech Electric
Technically, it will have an electric motor that will provide a maximum power of 90 kW (122 hp) powered by a lithium ion battery with a net capacity of 45 kWh, having a maximum autonomy of 285 kilometers. The French have integrated an “Eco” driving mode that preserves maximum autonomy, limiting power and performance, to which is also added a regenerative braking system with three operating modes:
- Limited regenerative mode for road and highway, with calm driving
- Drive B2 mode, regenerative by default for multipurpose use
- Brake mode B3, maximum regeneration for traffic jams and when going downhill
The new electric van will have up to three on-board chargers. As standard, it will be 11 kW, requiring two hours and 40 minutes to recharge 80% Of capacity. Optionally, customers will be able to choose between a 22 kW direct current three-phase fast charger that will recover 170 kilometers of autonomy in just 30 minutes, or opt for a charger similar to the previous one but that also has 22 kW in alternating current. It will go on sale on October 17 and will reach customers before the end of the year.
