Q Acoustics has announced the expansion of its Concept speaker range with the arrival of three new models designed both to assemble a stereo musical ensemble and to get a home theater set with HiFi orientation.
Are the Concept 30, shelf monitor type, the Concept 50 tower type and the Concept 90, designed as a speaker for center channels of a home cinema. All of them share materials and form of construction as well as some of its internal components, although logically they differ in performance.

As part of the brand’s Concept speaker line, the 30, 50 and 90 have the Gelcore construction technology in its acoustic box, already presented for the first time with the brand’s model 300, a system designed to reduce unwanted vibrations and thus high-frequency noise or coloration.
Gelcore is basically about eliminate resonances produced by the acoustic box thanks to the insertion of gel sheets between the wooden walls, thus minimizing the transmission of the residual sound signal to the outside and reducing the intrinsic coloration of the loudspeaker.
They also have the P2P anchor, which makes it possible to internally reduce the low-frequency vibrations of the box that can degrade the quality of the sound finally emitted by the set, and with a new base in the box that partially isolates it, minimizing colorations when placed on a surface.
The speakers include a new 0.9 inch tweeter and a driver for 5-inch mid-bass which has been specially designed for these models, with a new 30.5mm coil commissioned according to the manufacturer to improve power delivery capacity by 50%. In addition, the tweeter is inserted into the box in a insulated compartment the rest, to protect it from possible internal resonances that degrade the sound.
As for the differences between models, we find ourselves to start with a different number of drivers. Thus, although they all share the same tweeter, the Concept 30 mounts a single 5-inch woofer while the other two models have two 5-inch woofers.
This affects the frequency response, from 54 Hz to 30 kHz on the shelf model, of 42 Hz to 30 kHz on the tower speaker and 67 Hz to 30 kHz on the center speaker. Of course, they all share the same nominal impedance of 6 ohm.
The speakers can be purchased separately, but if we are looking to build a 5.1 home theater set from scratch, the manufacturer gives us the option of buy a pack which includes two Concept 50s for the front channels, a pair of Concept 30s for the rear, a Concept 90 for the center speaker and a Q Acoustics Q B12 subwoofer.
Price and availability
The new Concept 30, Concept 50 and Concept 90 loudspeakers will go on sale this month for prices of 1,199 euros, 2,599 euros and 849 euros respectively, costing the 5.1 speaker set a total of 5,495 euros.
