Optoma has announced the arrival to its catalog of home projectors of a new advanced model that will arrive this season to be at the top of its range and aiming both at gamers like home theater lovers looking for a large diagonal screen.
Is he UHZ50, a device based on DLP technology from Texas Instruments and with 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) that promises to come well served in terms of light generation capabilities thanks to its DuraCore laser source that can last up to 30,000 hours.

The Optoma UHZ50 is an all-terrain projector that aims to become the home entertainment center both when it comes to watching home cinema and for users looking for advanced equipment to play on the big screen and access streaming services, with a Android TV derived operating system with access to an application store for the most popular ones such as Netflix or YouTube.
It is capable of offering a light source of 3,000 ANSI lumens with a native contrast of 2,500,000: 1 and an almost instantaneous start-up thanks to the laser system.
It supports videos in HDR10 and HLG supporting 100% of the Rec. 709 and DCI-P3 color space and offering a response time of only 16.7 ms at 4K resolutions at 60 Hz and about impressive 4 ms in 1080p at 240 Hz.
We have keystone correction of the four corners, 1.3X optical zoom, image adjustment in the vertical and horizontal axes as well as compatibility with the Optoma Creative Cast application, a mobile app from which we can send content via a 5 GHz WiFi connection.
Connectivity is completed with three HDMI 2.0 ports, one of them compatible with eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) to send the sound to an external equipment if we do not want to use the integrated 2×10 watt speaker system, and it also comes with two USB ports to connect dongles, multimedia players or directly files on memories and hard drives that can be accessed from its integrated player.
Price and availability
The Optoma UHZ50 will go on sale starting this month, first in the United States, for a price that will be around 1,600 euros. As for the date of its arrival in Europe, it is a piece of information that the manufacturer has not yet provided.
