The news coming from China talk about Xiaomi and a new Pure Mode they are already working on. This new MIUI function would come to protect users by taking one of the most important characteristics of the iPhone with IOS. The Pure Mode aims make the device more secure and it would limit some of the most attractive possibilities of Android. The good news is that it is not mandatory, only if the user wishes it will be activated. Will this improve or worsen Xiaomi mobiles?
This is the Pure Mode that will come to Xiaomi phones with MIUI
Xiaomi wants to make its devices more secure and is testing a new mode that will lock certain parts of the system. According to Xiaomi, 40% of applications downloaded outside of Google Play do not pass security audits and 10% of these are malicious. These applications that are downloaded from other repositories are the APKs that you later install on your terminal.
The MIUI Pure Mode intends to turn your Xiaomi into a mobile that You can only download apps from Google Play or verified stores. Once activated, it protects the device and does not allow the installation of APKs under any circumstances. It is not something incredibly new, but it can be interesting for the most inexperienced users.
Certain web pages can camouflage the phantom click downloads and cause problems on your device if you don’t have much idea of what you are doing. With the Pure Mode this will be over.
Of course, it is a completely optional mode that the user can activate or deactivate. In our experience it is possible that Xiaomi change the initial settings and include enabling or disabling this mode with messages such as “Make your phone more secure” or “Prevent download of malicious applications.”
At the moment it is being tested in China and we do not know completely if it will debut in the international Xiaomi mobiles.
