A Hollywood producer predicts that movies from Marvel Studios and other major productions will not be filmed until 2021.
Movies from Marvel Studios and other big-budget productions stopped during the global pandemic caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) won’t be able to safely start or continue filming until 2021, Jason Blum predicts. The founder and producer of Blumhouse behind the film The Invisible Man and the Oscar winner for Get Out says that reopening Hollywood depends on massive tests and only the smallest productions could start filming before the end of the year.
Blum’s comments come after a host of high-profile productions suffered interruptions to filming, including The Batman, Jurassic World 3, and Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings. While other projects couldn’t even start like Doctor Strange 2 or Spider-Man 3.
“I think the smaller productions will start sooner, but I don’t think we’ll see filming for Marvel movies, or big expensive movies, until 2021. The real answer to your question is that it’s all about when the tests will be done in this country so well as they do in other places, which is not yet the case ”.
