With the premiere of Moon Knight Closing in, promotion for the new Disney+ series that will see the live-action debut of mystical mercenary Marc Spector, is at an all-time high.
Now, Marvel Studios has shared a new video, which brings us stunning new footage along with excerpts from interviews with stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy, director Mohamad Diab, and Marvel CEO Kevin Feige.
“It is surprising that the brain has this survival mechanism, this way of coping”Isaac says of his character’s dissociative identity disorder. “At a very young age, if you’re going through sustained horrific trauma and abuse, one thing that can happen for one to survive is that the brain splits into an alternate personality that has no idea what’s going on. Otherwise, you die because it’s so horrible. And that’s his amazing and beautiful superpower.”.
You can watch the video below:
The series is mainly directed by Mohamed Diab (Cairo 678)with Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (The Endless, Synchronic) directing some chapters. Jeremy Slater (Umbrella Academy; The Exorcist) acts as showrunner and leads the writing team of the series.
Plot details are still unknown, but the adaptation is expected to stay fairly close to the basic premise of the comic, with Marc Spector, a highly-skilled mercenary who has numerous alter-egos, channeling the power of the god Khonshu to fight against crime in Los Angeles.
