Tom Sturridge as Morpheus and Vivienne Acheampong as librarian Lucienne star in this new image from The Sandman series.
The British medium specialized in cinema has released a new image of The Sandman that presents the live action version of Lucienne for the first time.
In the preview of its new edition, the medium presents the excerpt from a longer interview with Neil Gaiman, the legendary writer who created the comic The Sandman, which is adapted as an original series for the first time.
According to the outlet, Gaiman discussed The Sandman’s approach to the screen, which changes the genre and tone of the original. “You watch episode 1 and you think, ‘Oh, I get this: it’s like Downton Abbey, but with magic.’” And he continues: “Then you will ask yourself: ‘What the hell is this?’ for episode 2, when you meet the gargoyle Gregory in The Dreaming. Episode 5 is as dark and traumatic as it gets, and then you have episode 6, which is probably the most enjoyable of all the episodes.”
And the writer concludes: “If you didn’t like an episode of Game of Thrones, you probably won’t like any other episode of that series. With Sandman, it’s all about surprising you. He is about reinventing himself. It’s about taking you on a journey you haven’t done before.”
In addition to the aforementioned Tom Sturridge as Morpheus / Dream and Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, The Sandman features Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian, Charles Dance as Roderick Burgess, Asim Chaudry and Sanjeev Bhaskar as Abel and Cain, Kirby Howell- Baptiste as Death and Stephen Fry as Gilbert.
